9 Lasagna Noodles (cooked)
2 Large Sauerkraut (drained)
2 Sticks Oleo
1 Large Onion (chopped)
Salt + Pepper to taste
1 Large Package Mozzarella Cheese
7-8 Slices American Cheese
Potato Bud's Instant Mashed Potatoes (make for 8 servings)


1. Saute Onion in Oleo
2. Add Sauerkraut + 1 tbsp. brown sugar. Fry for 1 hour or until soft.
3. Cook Lasagna noodles and drain.
4. Make Potato Buds (8 servings) as directed on box.
5. Use 9x13 pan.
6. Sprinkle Sauerkraut on bottom of pan so noodles don't stick.
7. Add 1 layer of noodles, then thick layer of sauerkraut, then 3 more noodles on top of sauerkraut, then all your potatoes on top of noodles.
8. Sprinkle large package of mozzarella cheese on top of potatoes and 7 to 8 slives of american cheese on top of mozzarella.
9. Add last 3 noodles on top of potatoes and cheese.
10. Spread balance of sauerkraut on top of noodles.
11. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer.

This recipe is probably more than a hundred years old. It's been given down the family tree for years upon years and it's a very delicious and good recipe. Feeds a lot and lasts a while too. If you like pierogie's, you'll like this recipe!
